Online Sessions Are Now Available to All Our Clients.
Whether you're next door or deployed overseas, Gottman Method Couples Counseling is available to you just as if you were in our office.
Advances in technology have opened countless door in the healthcare professions in recent years including great advances in the area of Telemedicine. Often referred to as Skype Sessions, Video Counseling, Facetime Counseling, or Online Counseling, secure, HIPAA Compliant Telemedicine platforms now allow many to receive services that might not otherwise be available to them. This can be especially advantageous to couples. It's challenging enough when an individual needs to make an appointment for a weekly session, but when that appointment also has to be coordinated with a spouse's schedule who make work on the other side of town, it creates a new degree of complexity. Especially in situations where shift work is already creating challenges in the relationship, or worse when perhaps one or both partners are deployed overseas.
To help resolve these challenges Dr. Carpenter offers secure, online video sessions. Using the same platform used by major worldwide hospital networks and NASA for the ISS, our Telemedicine platform is able to handle video sessions for individuals, couples on opposites sides of the world as well as entire families.
What to Expect:
Online sessions are very similar to in office sessions. Couples may attend by using the same computer or mobile device if they're in the same location, or each may attend from different locations.
At times Dr. Carpenter will hand out reference material that he feels may be beneficial for future use. When attending online sessions soft copies of these materials will be sent to you via email or stored in your secure online client portal for you to access at your leisure. Our platform also allows these to be shared on-screen during the session.
In-between sessions just as those seeing Dr. Carpenter in office you will have the ability to contact Dr. Carpenter via phone or secure messaging pursuant to office policies.
What You Will Need:
Our Telemedicine platforms are very user friendly. You may attend sessions using a desktop or laptop computer, or a mobile device such as a tablet or cell phone. Both Android and Apple iOS are supported.
You will simply need to make sure that you are in somewhat of a private area where you can hear your device well, and you will be able to be heard. You will also need a good internet connection, WiFi signal, or cellular connection.
At your appointed session time you enter the Online Waiting Room. When Dr. Carpenter is available he will pull you into the Online Counseling Room.
